who are you and what are your credentials?
My name is Frank Mallon and I am first a husband and a father of two. Professionally, I’m a doctor of physical therapy and the founder and owner of Renaissance Physical Therapy & Wellness. I am the first certified provider of the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) in PA. I utilize a multi-disciplinary approach, often collaborating with osteopaths, holistic dentists, neuro-optometrists, acupuncturists, fitness professionals, and podiatrists, among others.
I have consulted for NBA and NFL teams as well as Live Nation and I work with clients of all levels including weekend warriors and senior citizens in addition to professional athletes. I have had the honor of being able to utilize this approach successfully in the treatment of numerous professional athletes and I have served as a private PT to numerous Super Bowl champions, first-round NFL draft picks and pro-bowlers, WNBA champions, NBA athletes, USWNT World Cup Champions, and Team USA medalists as well as platinum certified musical artists.
What can you offer and what can patients expect when they come to work with you?
They can expect an open mind that understands that everything that happens to us in our life tells the story of who we are, what we feel, and how we function and move. I frequently have to “zoom out” to understand what the demands on your unique system are and have been to this point. Every system of our body is connected and my job is to find the root cause and triggers of your issues, minimize their influence, and then show you how to control it in order to help you understand the nature of why your system may be over-stressed and struggling.
With our initial session, we take a comprehensive dive into your medical history and examine everything from the shoes you wear to the glasses/contacts you might wear and even how your teeth touch - it all matters!
I embrace the opportunity to show you that:
Your personal story and history create who you are today and this makes sense with what you are feeling. My job is to show you how it is all connected.
What you may have perceived as problems are often your body’s very healthy way of compensating. We just need to get your body to not have to compensate!
You can likely manage these issues by having a better understanding of what is controlling and influencing your symptoms. We can then implement strategies to help you take more control over what you are feeling and move forward with your life, living the life you want to live with peace and enjoyment!
Is there anything else patients should know about working with you?
I was a patient first, which is what sparked not only my interest in becoming a physical therapist, but also what allowed me to appreciate the value of the multi-disciplinary approach that I now deliver to my patients in this area. Without that experience, I would have not been able to function or enjoy my life in the way that I can today and I am eternally grateful. I see now that my experience as a patient was necessary in allowing me to truly understand the value of this holistic approach as well as the patient experience. My hope is that I can help you in the way that I was personally helped and give you some answers for why you are experiencing the issues that you are, as well as give you some strategies to help take better control over your symptoms. It is the best way that I can show gratitude for those who have helped me.
